Could Vapers’ Votes Elect Our President?

vote_bannerA recent story in the Washington Examiner predicts that vapers will determine our next President of the United States. There are more than 10 million vapers in the United States, and the story said that a “top Washington influencer” said that vapers “could be the determining factor in the November presidential election.

Founder of the Americans for Tax Reform, Grover Norquist, echoed the sentiment.

Cynthia Cabrera, executive director of the Smoke-Free Alternatives Trade Association, told the Washington Examiner that “vapers are politically engaged this election because of Democratic threats to tax, regulate and even kill the practice that was created in part as an alternative to harmful cigarettes.”

Challenges including the Food and Drug Administration’s regulations, taxation and wrongly naming vaping products as tobacco products are issues that are heavy on voters’ minds for the 2016 vote.

Norquist said at a recent lobbying event at Capitol Hill that vaping is not a product—it is a political movement.
