Sigelei Fuchai 200W Temperature Control Mod Review

Sigelei is back at it again constantly surprising us with yet another new Vape device, the Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod and it"s not quite like anything else we"ve seen from them before! Yet at the same time it"s not too incredibly different but different enough to stand out on a shelf with a bunch of other Random Vape devices. Throughout the course of this review I"ll get into the finer details that make the Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod an interesting vaporizer to own as well my fair and respectful opinion on the Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod as a vape device in general.

When I opened my vape mail package and first seen the box for the Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod I almost mistook it for a different Sigelei product as their boxes never change but once I saw the FUCHAI where the Sigelei name is usually present I knew I was mistaken, not to mention the big blue dot indicating the color of the packaged unit. These Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mods are available in Black, Blue, and Red and so far I think I like Blue the best. I opened the box and pulled the silicone sleeve off that comes included and indeed was this Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod ever blue, a light soft almost fuzzy to the touch blue. Of course, the Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod has that light rubbery like coating the same as the Sigelei 150 Temperature Control Vaporizer and I"m still unsure myself if I am a big fan of it or not. It"s almost a slip proof coating but at the same time if you are wearing gloves or have really dry hands it can almost seem a bit slippery. The other thing with the colorized rubbery coatings is eJuice can be a real pain to clean off if one happens to over drip, I can admit it yes sometimes it happens but is not such a bad thing to make me dislike this coating Sigelei has taken a liking to using.

The Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod is also the first 200 watt box mod Sigelei has ever produced. The Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod is 50 watts more capable than the Sigelei 150 temperature control and of course the Sigelei 150. As well as the Sigelei 100 Plus, which in my opinion was just as capable as the Sigelei 150 with just a slightly less range depending on the build you were using. I could run through the whole Sigelei lineup with a comparison, but I think it is easier and safer to say that the Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod is Sigelei"s most powerful box mod to date!

When I say the Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod is not quite the same but not quite different I mainly am referring to the shape design. Yes it still boasts Sigelei"s most popular rectangular shape but they have offset the sides so that when you look at it from the top or bottom it has more of a parallelogram shape instead of sticking to straight squareness so it"s not quite the same as anything else in that aspect. I think I am a fan of this little design quirk as it feels a little more shapely to my long alien hands. The buttons are not angled with the sides, the sit true and perpendicular to the sides so they do protrude just a little farther than previous models or so it feels due to the side being angled like it is. Not to worry this does not impair any ability to operate the buttons; In fact, I kind of like it that way. Mind you, if it was in a pocket I"d be concerned with a button being pressed and held, luckily I don’t walk around with my vape in a tight pocket. The Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod is flush flat across the top and the 510 connection sits nice and even to keep the nice smooth flat across the top design and the 510 connection itself is nice and smooth with what I am assuming is a free floating pin rather than being spring loaded, either way it functions for a nice smooth fit for the atomizer.

As far as the main protection features go the Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod covers it all. Low atomizer and high to warn and prevent from firing outside it"s programmed resistance range. Low battery and check battery warnings, atomizer short and work overtime warnings to make sure you have a safe vaping experience. The Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod also features system lock and unlock to avoid any unwanted firing. Another main feature to mention and definitely worth the mention is Reverse Battery Protection just in case you ever should happen to put your batteries in backwards. One feature the Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod lacks is a micro usb port for charging and updates, it is not in Sigelei"s style to do this as some of their main products have not had the usb capability to begin with. We can hope they start to include this at least for updates in the future.

Now that I"ve got you thinking of pushing some buttons, let us cover the menu operations real quick as this is completely different than any other Sigelei box mod for accessing or changing things in the menu. The Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod still utilizes the same three button setup we are used to, 2 settings buttons below the screen and a slightly larger fire button above the screen. Normally to access the temperature control modes you would click the fire button three times, set a preferred temperature setting and then you are way to fully being in the Temperature Control vape mode, The Sigelei 150 TC was much like the IPV settings I found but this Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod is different and this is where I find myself wanting more out of what I as the user can control that the Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod does not offer. With the Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod you press the two setting buttons and hold them until the screen changes to where you can chose between nickel, power and titanium mode. From there you highlight the mode you want then hit the fire button to select the mode, that"s it. The only thing there is to adjust in temperature control mode it the temperature itself, there is no changing the wattage or even an indication of where your voltage is set not even in power mode does it show you what your voltage is to your current wattage setting. That being said I do realize that this is all done automatically and some might even go as far to say you don"t need that information but I prefer to be able to keep my vape between 3.5 volts and 4.1 volts depending upon the build I have in my atomizer. The other point of not being able to set a temperature then adjust wattage or joules to find my preferred vape temperature for the ejuice I"d be vaping comes down to one simple fact, this is a Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod, not an IPV or a Sigelei 150 temperature control so on that note I shall just see if I can adapt to using how this one functions and who knows I may even come to prefer it this way in time.

When it came time to think of a set of coils to build to put in my atomizer for use with the Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod I decided not to go so low this time and not for the sake of what the Fuchai is capable of I just decided to do something a little larger. One of the first things I look at is the resistance range when selecting coils and how low of resistance a mod can go is a good thing to keep in mind. The Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod can go as low as 0.05 ohms not just in nickel or titanium temperature control modes but Power mode with Kanthal wire too! This is the first mod I have owned that offers that low of a resistance capability and I"m pretty sure many other vapers out there will find this a very appealing feature and one that I will for sure be taking advantage of in the future! For now though I am going with a set of clapton coils, 26g kanthal wire wrapped in 32g kanthal wire. I picked up a roll of this preclaptoned wire at Canada"s Vape Expo and I really enjoy it. When finished the build come out to 0.40 ohm at 6/5 wraps and should serve well for testing purposes.

Once I had the cotton all nice and routinely wicked I soaked it in some yummy Crunch and Milk by Meo and started out at what the Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod tells me is 50 watts. I held down that nice shiny fire button but to my surprise there was an incredible amount of coil ramp up time and battery drop, which just means a significant drop in power level on the indicator. No worries with the lag in coil ramp up time, I just attribute that to the larger build and remedy it by turning it up in wattage, sure enough that did the trick. I went up to 75 watts rather than the usual increments of ten watts and at 75 watts in no less than a few seconds the Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod had my atomizer kicking up a nice cloud ripe full of flavor, this was a bit more satisfying as far as a nice smooth vape goes. Next it was time to push that envelope and see what this little blue bombshell could really do. Another 15 watt increase brought me to 90 watts and sure enough a slight increase which only means one thing, I need to turn it up a lot higher. I rejuiced my cotton to assure no dry hits, started dialing the Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod up and noticed the wattage is going up in increments of point five instead of point by point or full value. This could be a time saver or a pain. SO bit by bit I kept increasing the wattage until I got up to a whopping 180 watts and by this time I was feeling over vaped but very impressed. Something tells me that it may not be a true 200 watts unless you have a build that is going to allow it to take full use of the voltage/wattage ratio like with the Sigelei 150 but regardless this Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod. Sure enough I should not be able to hit 180 watts over and over the way I can with the Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod but I"m not too concerned with that issue, if I were to be vaping all day at a true 180 watts I do not think it would be a very comfortable vape.

After vaping with the Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod for a few days I did start to notice the battery bay itself seems to have more room in it, not an incredible amount but just slightly or perhaps it"s the battery door itself covering more surface as with my fingers wrapped around the Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod it didn’t seem to take much to shift the battery door with my fingers. It is held in place by two small neodymium magnets but they do not seem very strong. Really it"s not that big of an issue and really suppose could be the way I hold mods but none the less it does the job, looks good so it"s alright.

Pros

  • Bright rubber blue coating
  • Large well lit display with large numbers
  • 200 watts
  • Very low resistance capable 0.05 ohm in all modes
  • Temperature Control both Nickel and Titanium
  • Removable 18650 Batteries
  • Odd twist to the box mod shape

Cons

  • Battery door slips easily
  • No voltage readout
  • no wattage adjustment in temperature control modes
  • No usb port for charging or updates

After many exhausting many sets of batteries through the Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod and various types of builds to see how well this new box mod will drive different setups I feel pretty confident is saying this is a very versatile Vaporizer even though it is lacking a few adjustability options that I prefer I still feel this is a box mod that even someone new to vaping can put to good use and still be able to understand the various modes of operation. At the amazing low price of $43.99 USD at Wake and Vape I can see the Sigelei Fuchai 200 Watt Temperature Control Mod being a hot item that any cloud chaser cannot pass up, a 200 Watt box mod for under Fifty dollars is an excellent score!
