Oregon Democrats Proposing E-Cig Tax Increase

oregonRep. Phil Barnhart is sponsoring HB 4062, which would raise retail tax on vaping products by 50 percent. While the effort is still being debated, according to The Daily Caller, now is the time for vapers to get involved in opposing the tax. The Northwest Vaping Association is one group that has already come forward in opposition.

Jenn Baker of the Oregon Nurses Association told The Lund Report, “The goal would be to pass the cost increase onto the consumer—especially teens who are price-sensitive.”

Democrats control the house, but they need three-fifths majority rule to pass the tax in the future.
