Kentucky Lawmakers Eyeing Raising Vaping Age to 21

kentuckyA bill floating around in Kentucky may raise the legal smoking and vaping age to 21 could go into effect by August if passed. The current age to buy is 18.

WLKY.com reports that The Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky released a poll saying six in 10 Kentuckians support raising the age to 21. Blake Anderson, owner at Frankfort Electronic Cigarettes, told the news source that raising the age would do some damage to his business.

“I personally think if you’re 18 years old, you can vote, you should be able to vape, or buy pretty much all the products in here,” Anderson told WLKY.

Rep. David Watkins is the sponsor of the bill.
